FMCS Registraation for Capacitors – Fee, Process & Documnets Require Updated on July 06, 2024 12:43:37 PMFMCS means Foreign Manufacturer’s Certification Scheme. This scheme is establish by the Bureau of Indian Standards. But FMCS is mandatory for Foreign Manufacturers willing to expand their business within India. Capacitor manufacturers are not allow to export or import capacitors within India without obtaining an FMCS license. Because FMCS ensures capacitor manufacturers adhere to the quality, safety, and reliability standards of the BIS.
IS 1709: BIS standards outline the specifications for Capacitors for use in electronic circuits. It explains general specifications, constructional specifications, and testing specifications for capacitors.
IS 13340: BIS standards outline the specifications for Capacitors for use in power factor correction equipment.Because It explains general specifications, constructional specifications, and testing specifications for Capacitors.
IS 2993: BIS standards outline the specifications for motor-start capacitors. BecauseIt explains general specifications, constructional specifications, and testing specifications, for Capacitors used in single-phase induction motors.
IS 2994: BIS standards outline the specifications for motor-run capacitors. So,It explains general specifications, constructional specifications, and testing specifications for Capacitors used in single-phase induction motors.
IS 1569: BIS standards outline the specifications for high-voltage capacitors. Because It explains general specifications, constructional specifications, and testing specifications for Capacitors used in high-voltage applications.
Preparation: Manufacturers have to accept all the terms and conditions of BIS FMCS as a mandatory requirement. Along with this, the manufacturer has to gather all the required documents such as the manufacturing process, list of machinery, business license, laboratory reports, list of raw materials, etc.
Registration Form: Once the manufacturer has gathered the required paperwork, they must register themselves and pay the registration fee to obtain an FMCS license. By providing the documents, and the manufacturer may apply both offline at the FMCD department in Delhi and online at the BIS website. He or she is require to fill in complete and accurate information in the application form.
Issue Raised (if any): Only complete, accurate, and error-free applications are taken into consideration by authorities. The organization receive an email from the authorities notifying them of the issues with the application form.
Nomination of AIR: The authorized Indian Representative is referred to as AIR. And The organization chooses an AIR to represent the organization’s interests and decisions to the BIS authorities. An AIR reside in India and be well-versed in government institutions, policies, and organizations.
Factory Audit: The manufacturer is required to pay an audit fee. BIS officials visit the production facility to evaluate the factory premises and the entire process of production. Because It includes the efficiency of its machinery, its adherence to quality control requirements,so its manufacturing process, raw materials used, etc.
Product Sample: To evaluate the quality, and effectiveness, dependability, and safety criteria of capacitors,But BIS officials gather a sample of the devices. In order to better understand the compliance, the sample is evaluated at both the internal and BIS-approved laboratories.
Laboratory Results: If the laboratory results are unfavorable and show that Capacitors do not meet BIS standards, the license-issuing process is terminat. Because the process of issuing an FMCS license moves forward if the test results are positive and show that Capacitors comply with BIS standards.
Issuance of Certification: The FMCS license fee as well as the advance minimum marking cost pay by the manufacturer. So,the organization receives an FMCS license if the fees are pay and the aforementioned steps are followed.
Indemnity Bond and PBG: The manufacturer has to sign an indemnity bond with the BIS authorities. But Along with that, the manufacturer has to pay USD 10,000 as Performance Bank Guarantee.
Capacitors are thoroughly inspect to prevent any accidents like fires, short circuits, etc. But FMCS license is given as a result of favorable test results. The FMCS license’s initial certification is valid for two years. So, the manufacturer is then oblay to pay a renewal fee to maintain their FMCS license. A renew certificate is give following the successful payment of the license renewal fee. Because a renew certificate has a minimum one-year and a maximum five-year validity period. So,The BIS officials impose a late fee of Rs 5,000 on the producer if the certification is kept active after the original certification’s expiration date.
Particulars | Fees |
? Lab Test | ? 25,000 + GST |
?Application Fee | ? 43,000 + GST |
?Professional Fee | ? 10,000 + GST |
?Validity of CRS Registration | 2 years |
?Renewal Fee | Same as application fee, and additional our professional fee for renewal is ? 7,500. |
Note : It typically takes 2-3 months to obtain FMCS Certification from
the BIS licensing authority.
FMCS for Capacitors is a mandatory requirement because it helps in preventing any harm or injuries to consumers. But FMCS ensures that Capacitors are of high quality, safety measures are take care of, reliable for the consumers, and perform well. But Certified Capacitors are energy efficient as well as consist of a longer lifespan indicating reduced frequent failures of capacitors.
